The size and scope of what's there to be read, translated and discussed from Thai and from Thailand is still vastly uncharted, a locus of literature to which this essay tried to tribute a minute expedition. Contemporary poetry is indeed undoubtedly praiseworthy. Notwithstanding novelty of styles and anti-traditionalism, even most conservative Thai literature scholars should accept these challenges. Or else poets could continue being relegated to instrumentalizing political stages and perceive themselves as mere “fireworks”, “decorative” features of this Country."
